Carpenters' Helper

We are looking for a Carpenter’s Helper to undertake a variety of day-to-day rough carpentry tasks. This is an integral part of our business and in this role you will ensure that Cabinet Designers install operations run smoothly day in and day out. The main goal of this role is to prep our job sites in advance and ensure our finish carpentry team members can execute kitchen and bathroom installations as efficiently as possible.


  • Demolition and removal of kitchen & bathroom materials
  • Keep job sites clean and organized at all time
  • Loading & unloading delivery trucks with job related materials
  • Assist experience installer team members and continue to learn from them
  • Assist internal project manager to execute various punch list related tasks
  • Perform rough carpentry tasks including the following;
    • Install site protection materials at job sites
    • Install rough door and window frames
    • Install pre-hung door units and windows
    • Install interior wall frames and temporary supports
    • Install subflooring and tile backer board
    • Install drywall & taping
  • Perform finish carpentry tasks including the following;
    • Install baseboard, door, and window trim
    • Install cabinet hardware
    • Install walk-in and reach-in type closet systems
    • Assist with installation of custom cabinets in a high quality, safe and productive manner


  • Must have +2 years’ of prior experience in rough carpentry role
  • Prior experience in a finish carpentry role preferred
  • Knowledge of power tools, including skill saw, miter saw, jigsaw, pin & nail gun
  • Possession of basic hand tools and reliable transportation to job sites
  • Valid NY state drivers license with a clean record is required
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary to deliver the project on time
  • Must be able to read a tape measure and understand fractions/basic math
  • Able to lift 75+ pounds (up and down stairs at times)
  • Ability to deliver customer service and represent the company in a positive manner
  • Ability to read work orders and communicate effectively in writing
  • Skilled with Technology (i.e. tablet, computer, printer, scanner) is preferred
  • Candidate should be able to pass a background check (including a criminal records check)
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position - Including:
    • Able to lift 75+ pounds (up and down stairs at times)
    • Able to work in various inside & outside environments being subjected to noise, sawdust, chemical smells and other external factors involved in construction projects
    • Able to operate machines, hand tools, and job specific equipment and tools
    • Requires visual acuity for depth perception and color perception
